Story: Known as being one of the most iconic symbols of courage and leadership, are we about to see Tony’s vison come true in the endgame and if so could this be the path to the end of the Avengers and seeing what true power really is in the wrong hands that are trying to change the world.
Creating: As Infinity War left millions of fans heartbroken with so many unanswered questions to what is going to happen next, my imagination was already creating visons on what could happen. Taken at a construction site in 2018, when placing Thanos’s fist breaking the shield on top of a pile of broken rocks, I wanted this to be a moment of what leadership is all about that one great leader will fight till the end for freedom and peace and won’t quit till they are broken (Captain America) and that other will fight for their greed and domination to control everything (Thanos). Just capturing this moment was like witnessing the biggest moment of a fight that two leaders have fought each other creating destruction around them making their stand.
Facts: Known for being mainly shaped as a metal disc for the Captain to throw at his enemies, originally the Captains shield was shaped as the tradition shield of America that is seen on the country’s seal that stands for as great leadership.
. In the creation of making the Captain’s shield round, the shield was created by Dr Myron MacLain who was a metallurgist scientist who specializes in metal: Steel, Aluminum, Iron and Copper. While working on the new shield design for the Captain, the doctor had discovered that by mixing different metals altogether he had created a vibranium metal and shaped the design as a discus becoming an indestructible weapon. Unfortunately, Myron couldn’t make another shield like the Captains for he was asleep when the metals were mixed and spent years trying to make a new one but years later Myron was involved with the Weapon X program making Wolverines adamantium skeleton and claws.
. As for the origin story of how Captain America got his circular shield, the shield was handed over to the Captain by non-other than the thirty second president of the united states Franklin Roosevelt to give to Captain America in person.
