Story: The Black Panther, known in the animal kingdom as a rare and stealthy animal that uses its ability and intelligence skills to hunt down other spices that they can adapt to diverse environments that they are referred to as ghosts of the forest. As for this Black Panther, what’s he hunting for?
Creating: With so many Marvel cartoons on during my childhood years of the 90’s, I can still remember seeing Black Panther make his camo in the 1994-episode in the Fantastic Four. As a kid, Black Panther was a hero that came across with so much mystery that he was character I had been waiting to see come on to the big screen and make his first film appearance and that was thanks to Captain America Civil War. After watching Civil War, Panther was a hero I knew I had to take his photograph and do something that shows a relation of hunting of animal and man put together into one source and Panther was my answer. When coming up with my ideas for Panther, my inspiration for this photograph came from watching a cat in the garden that was hunting. By watching this cat in its preparing stance, it would lie perfectly still and move slightly in the grass and prepare itself for its moment to attack, this helped me visualize Black Panther in a tall grass environment that you could see he’s preparing to jump out at the viewer as if he’s hunting you. When relating the animal side to creating this photograph, it was to base Panther in an environment where you would most likely see one and is waiting to attack. The Claws on Panther were to symbolize when a cat attacks it has its claws ready to grab it’s target. For the man side of hunting, this was to show Panther is a man in a suit that disguises himself to become one closer to nature.
Facts: Created by Writer Stan Lee and Artist Jack Kirby, Black Panther would make his first ever appearance in Marvel comics in July of 1966 in the Fantastic Four issue 52 and was to be the first black and African superhero in American comics, which other black superheroes like Falcon and Luke Cage and even DC Comics Heroes Black Lighting and Green Lantern Jon Stewart would come after and be inspired by Panther. When creating the name for Black Panther, creator Stan Lee was inspired by a pulp adventure hero who had a black panther as a helper and also became a theory that the name was given to the character as a reference to the political party known as the black panther party in the 1960’s. Because of this theory to giving this name to Panther, Panther was briefly renamed to as the Black Leopard which was in issue 119 of the Fantastic Four but it didn’t last long and went back to Panther.
. After making his first debut in Fantastic Fours issues 52 and 53 and making a special appearance again in Fantastic four annual 5, Panther would travel from his home land of the fiction African nation of Wakanda to New York City to become a team member of The Avengers in May of 1968 in The Avengers issue 52 and would finally get his own comic book series in 1977.
. As for the origin, the Black Panther is the ceremonial title that is given to the chief of the panther tribe of the advanced and kept secret land known as Wakanda. As ruler of the country and chief of Wakanda, the Panther is a symbol of office which is the head of the state and given as a hereditary title but it must be earned to become the true Black Panther leader. In the beginning of Wakanda, the land was stroke by a meteorite by a rare mineral known as Vibranium and was kept safe from the outside world. As Wakanda had kept their secret safe for thousands of years to protect their Vibranium metal by the first king of Wakanda, now under kingship from T’Chaka he would have at this point a technological and economical Wakanda and which this was the most advanced country in the world and still protected from outsiders, but that was about to change. With the birth of T’Chaka the first son of T’Challa, years later Wakanda was attacked by a scientist called Ulysses Klaw and would kill King T’Chaka by using a Vibranium sound base weapon to which T’Challa would use on Klaw to beat him and survive which lead Klaw to tell the world about Wakanda as revenge.
With King T’Chaka death, it was now handed to Prince T’Challa to become the heir of Wakanda and protector as the Black Panther. In T’Challa’s years of growing up, T’Challa was not king at this point until he was ready and had proved himself that he was to be Wakanda’s heir. The King of Wakanda at the time was T’Chaka’s brother S’yan who had passed the trials to become the Panther. T’Challa would train and study in Europe and in America and return home to earn his title and attributes by beating the champions of the Wakanda tribes making him become the king and the Black Panther.
. Black Panthers powers and abilities are based upon on becoming the chief of the panther clan and king of Wakanda where all kings must eat the ceremonial codon heart-shape herb which provides enhanced strength endurance, reflexes, speed, superhuman stamina, high senses that allow him to see in the dark, hear sounds that humans cannot and give him scents to track down different spices and can tell if someone is lying by sensing a change in their body odor. The herb can only be eaten by Wakandan royalty and acts as a poison to those who are not royal blood. Black Panthers suit is made from Vibranium that is equipped with Vibranium claws and with Vibranium mesh known as micro weave that protect T’Challa in the suit from bullets and incoming explosions.
